Payal Shah

Director

Payal has more than 15 years of experience in public accounting. She has been helping closely held business, their owners, and individuals with tax compliance, tax planning, IRS notices, bookkeeping, and cash flow management . Her favorite thing is to help client with tax planning and understanding their unique business finance and tax needs. Her industry experience includes start-up companies, professional services, manufacturing, real estate, health care, multi-state filings and foreign tax issues. Prior to joining Bay Landing Tax & Consulting , she worked as tax manager at a various CPA firms like Hood and Strong, LLP and Wheeler Accountants, LLP where she was responsible for managing bookkeeping services, tax engagements and working closely with clients with complex tax issues. Payal is member of American Institute of CPAs, the California Society of CPAs and the Colorado Society of CPAs. She is a licensed CPA.

Robert H Avon

Principal

Rob joined Bay Landing Tax and Consulting as a principal after merging his sole proprietorship tax/accounting practice in November 2020. Rob has been a practicing CPA since 1981. He specializes in small business and individual taxation and enjoys the business/personal relationships that have been established over the years.

In his spare time, he enjoys time with his wife and family, including 3 children and 4 grandchildren. He enjoys his backyard and vacationing in Hawaii.

Holly Neesham

Business Advisor

Holly started working for Rob Avon in June of 1992 as an accounting clerk. Within a couple of years, Holly became the full-time accounting clerk and Office Manager here at Rob Avon. She is exceptional at running the day to day operations of the office while also taking time to build relationships with clients.

When away from the office, Holly enjoys traveling and spending time with her family, including her four grandsons.

Shehla Syed

Business Advisor

Shehla is a licensed CPA and a Quickbooks Online Advanced ProAdvisor. She has over 10 years of experience working as an accounting consultant and analyst providing customized solutions to small businesses and non-profit organizations. She has worked with clients and their auditors in helping them plan and maintain robust accounting systems to achieve accurate and transparent reporting for decision making and compliance. Shehla also has expertise in implementing accounting processes and procedures with proper oversight as well as staff-training for bookkeeping. Her experience includes financial analysis, budgeting & forecasting and ad hoc reporting to help business owners and managers make informed financial decisions. Shehla has worked at CPA firms helping small business owners with their accounting and compliance needs.

In her free time Shehla enjoys tending to her vegetable garden and watching anime with her kids.

Mikalah Kendall

Office Manager

Mikalah is an experienced customer service professional with over 5 years of experience in retail, operations, and office management. She has honed her skills in managing day-to-day operations and leading support staff in collegiate environments and most recently the financial service industry. Although she is new to the world of tax services, she is dedicated to learning and growing her skills to best serve our clients’ needs. Mikalah is a graduate of Santa Clara University where she earned a Bachelors of Arts in Communication. When she’s not working, Mikalah enjoys spending time with her friends and family, writing poems and short stories that somehow turn into novels, and binge watching new shows.
